I hope everyone had a great weekend.

The district conference was a lot of fun. A lot of great programs, meeting a lot of old friends. The next one will be held in Charleston and I highly recommend attending! If you would like to see pictures from the last event click this linkThis is a shared album from the conference where everyone was posting photos throughout the weekend. If you have any trouble opening it, please let me know.

Our newest fundraiser, Flags for Heroes, is coming along nicely. John Abboud will be giving us more details this week.

We have a joint meeting on April 24th. We will be combining our meeting at Hinchey’s with The Vanlandingham club.

For this meeting, we are expecting a larger turn out so Hinchey’s has requested a set menu.
These are the 3 options (no changes or substitutions)
  • Sirloin Steak with salad, bread, vegetables, and French Fries
  • Parmesan Encrusted Grouper with salad, bread, vegetables and rice
  • Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad
Please let me know ahead of time if you are attending so we can get a head count, as well as your meal choice. Upon arrival you will get a colored piece of paper representing your meal choice.

Birdies for Charity

Everyone’s talking about the 2023 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, April 10-16 at Harbour Town Golf Links. It’s Hilton Head Island’s biggest social event and South Carolina’s annual PGA TOUR golf tournament. And, thanks to the Heritage Classic Foundation’s Birdies for Charity fundraiser program, Memory Matters is a clear winner!

Memory Matters will receive 100% of the money we raise in your name through Birdies for Charity, plus an additional 20% as a gift from the Heritage Classic Foundation.

Birdies for Charity is like a walk-a-thon, but instead of donating per mile, participants either make a pledge for every birdie made during the tournament or make a flat donation of $25 or more.
You can show your support by making an online pledge at HeritageClassicFoundation.com from now until April 16 and designating your donation to Memory Matters.  Simply go to the Heritage Foundation website and donate now!

Flat donations may be made by credit card or check. If you choose to make a per-birdie donation, the Heritage Classic Foundation will bill you after the tournament for the amount of your commitment. Your generous contribution will make a big difference to the families and individuals we help daily who are living with Alzheimer’s disease, a related dementia or are wanting to improve their overall Brain Health.

Please download a donation form here and thank you in advance for your generous support!

Rotary International Responds to Ukraine Crisis

From Rotary International

Rotary is made up of people of action, especially in difficult times. In response to the deepening refugee crisis, The Rotary Foundation Trustees have decided to prioritize contributions made to the Disaster Response Fund until 30 April 2022 to support disaster response grants for districts affected by these events. These expedited disaster response grants can be used to supply water, food, medicine, shelter, and clothing.

Half a million people have fled Ukraine and are in dire need of emergency aid. The United Nations estimates that number of refugees could grow to as many as 5 million people displaced. Rotary clubs in Europe and around the world have stepped up their relief work, some working on the ground to help displaced families.

With your donation to our
Disaster Response Fund, we can support communities and help rebuild lives during this tragic time.
