Rotary clubs are dedicated to putting service above self. With around 40 members, Hilton Head Sunset Rotary is ideally structured to provide opportunities for service to the Hilton Head and surrounding communities. Our members are a group of accomplished, goal-oriented individuals that have a strong sense of service to others and like to get things DONE.
We are the right size for our members to be active in team projects working with other members for the good of the community. Member volunteers have active, important roles in projects involving club, international, vocational, and youth services.
We are a generous group providing financial support to local charities and the Rotary,Foundation. But our best contributions and greatest enjoyment come from utilizing our members’ time and talent to support charitable projects in the community.
Some of the projects Sunset Rotary participates in are:
- Support for polio eradication.
- International clean water projects.
- “Happy Feet”: Shoes for Disadvantaged Children.
- Planting trees at the Audubon preserve.
- Painting the corral fencing at “Wish Upon a Horse”.
- Mini Golf Tournment to Raise Funds for Local Charities
- Support for the Island’s Children’s Center.
- Support for the Hilton Head Island Fire Department’s annual pancake breakfast fundraiser.
- Salvation Army bell ringing.
- Contributing “sweat equity” to prep the grounds for the new First Tee Program on Hilton Head Island.
Sunset Rotary also organizes local fund raiser events such as the annual "Mini Golf Tournament" at Pirates Island on Hilton Head. These events allow us to raise funds for local charities and interact with locals and visitors who patronize these events.
We meet weekly and every other meeting is a dinner meeting. Each meeting features a speaker and topics have included local politics, golf, charities, the environment and more. Our comfortable relaxed meetings make us a popular choice of visiting Rotarians who make us their home away from home. We are known as “The Fun Club” and we hope you will join us in service to the community.
